Marco

Wow, what a year it has been for our boy Bailey (formerly Marco). Too refresh your memory Bailey had us really concerned as he nipped 3 people on the butt! Thankfully no one pressed the issue. We engaged the help of a professional trainer, we learned a great deal from her but that didn't help Baileys aggressive behavior. A neighbor had been with the NY city police K9 training and he made a suggestion that has worked wonders. A small metal can (coke can size + -) loosely filled with nuts and bolts. A shake of the can at any unacceptable behavior in close proximity to Baileys head. Tons of praise and sometimes a treat reward at the correct behavior in a circumstance that previously would have sent him over the edge. Well it only took 4 times and the behavior changed. If we notice him tensing up we will bring him to our side and the words "It is Okay Bailey" he relaxes and moves on! 1 year later he is the most loving playful loyal couch potato in the world. He has come to understand the limits of his allowed territory when off lead ( not a real common occurance) but it happens. He has not shown an aggressive behavior in many months and if anything is the most docile yet playful dog we have ever had! He knows his limits and while occasionally will test us he has come to be loved by all our neighbors and family members. My wife and I would like to thank Tampa Bay Beagle Rescue for now twice giving us wonderful pups. Goldie is now almost 6 years old and a wonderful dog and Bailey after about a year with us is truly a family member. Both with completely different and unique personalities but both great dogs. Minnie
Minnie

Minnie is doing great. All 21 lbs of her. She has put on weight nicely and her coat looks great. She was out at the last beagle outing in the park(not the movie outing) with my girlfriend and her kids, don't know if you got to see her or not. Anyway, thanks for following up and I am sure we will see you at Al Lopez soon. Gregg

Mable
Mable

Sorry it took a few days to get back with you, Mable has made herself right at home. It feels like she has been part of the pack forever, even though I know it's only been a little over a month. This little girl has personality plus! She and Tazz (my other beagle mix) play together, eat together, sleep together, even share bones (I've never seen that with two dogs). She's playful, heart achingly sweet (you really do have to love beagles), I was going to try to send pictures but I have so many that this E-mail would take forever to download. Check out the website I have been working on: web.tampabay.rr.com/shaytarbett/Mable/. I have not only pictures of my beautiful girl, but of her and Tazz together (I think I have one where they are playing tug-o-war with each other), and my "extended pet" family - my mom's greyhound, daughter's cat, sister's daughter, etc.., You guys really DO God's work with beagle adoptions, I honestly don't know how you get home each day without a new dog in tow. I love my Mable, and am so grateful to TBBR and for the fact that you exist at all. Thank you again, God bless! - Shay Tarbett

Max VI
Max VI

They loved him!!!! He fit right in to our family. The kids all fight over who gets to walk him and they shower him with lots of love. My kids keep saying “Thanks Mommy for getting Max.” He is a sweetie and has been very well behaved. We are all very excited to have him. Nicole is especially protective of him. I have a dog crate that I used for short periods when I would take the kids to school but today he had to be in there for 5 hours. I was so worried about him. I guess he did well because when my mom got home he was lying down in there. How long does it take for them to get used to being in the crate? Tomorrow morning I take him to the vets. We are using All Pets Hospital in New Port Richey. I was a little worried the past 2 nights because his nose was warm and dry. I thought they are always supposed to be cool and wet. I hope I’m just a nervous new “Mom”. Thanks for everything. Chris Fletcher

Milo II
Milo II

Milo is doing great. He's a real sweetie. He's had his first trip to the vet to get all checked out and he passed with flying colors. He's really fit in smoothly with the family and everybody just loves him. He loves to give kisses and take walks. We like to call him our 'Southern Gentleman'. We went by the adoption event on Saturday to say 'hi' to all of Milo's old friends (the two legged and four legged variety) and he had a great time. He took a loooong nap that afternoon! We'll have to take some pictures to share with you soon. Thanks for the e-mail. We'll keep in touch,
