Max is a 3 yo cutie whose owners abandoned him at the shelter because they were moving and decided he couldn't come along!! Poor Max thought he had a home where he was loved but now can't figure out what he did wrong. Fortunately for Max he was one of the lucky ones to make it out of this high kill shelter in Citrus County and he is now looking for a new forever home.

This is what Max's foster mom had to say about him:
He is a wonderful house guest. He is so affectionate. He loves to lay on you, and wants to be petted and give you kisses all the time. His fur is so soft!! He can jump on my chairs, but doesn’t seem to be able to jump onto the bed. Once lifted up he likes to lie against you, and will flip over in a heartbeat for a belly rub. He also is a lap dog, and if invited he will jump up and lay on your lap until you want to get up. During the night he gets down off the bed and likes to sleep in the open crate I keep in my room. Once he hears me start to get up, then he wants back up on the bed. He is quite adorable!!
He has only had one accident in the house and it was our fault. The patio door was closed. He comes when called, but yet does not know the word sit. We are working on this. He takes cookies very gently from your hand, and he has been around my friend’s daughters; 7, 10 and 12, and he was nothing but a love sponge, so he would be excellent with kids.

Max sounds like the perfect family dog and is waiting for you to come take him home. He will be going for heartworm treatment next week and will then be ready to go to his forever home.
