Joe
Joe

Hi, Joe (Cool) is doing good. He was very nervous and jumpy at first, but is getting much more accustomed to us now. He seems to be afraid of men, so it's taking longer for him to warm up to my husband. He goes in the dog crate sometimes to sleep with the door open. The one time he howled was when we shut the door and left the room. Guess we won't be doing that. He seems to be fine when left alone for a short time. We haven't left him for more than a couple hours yet. He likes to go for walks and doesn't want to turn around and go home. I have been getting lots of exercise. We may need to fence in our back yard. We took him to our animal doctor, Dr. Hafner, in Dunedin and he showed us a bad tooth that needs to be pulled, so we will do that on July 2. Also, we are treating him for yeast in his ears. His blood work came out good, so it's safe to go ahead with tooth surgery. We are enjoying Joe. He loves his food(Nutro Ultimate Holistic) with Chicken, Lamb & Salmon. He acts like someone is going to take it while he's eating as he keeps stopping to look around. But still finishes quickly. He likes to go out by the pool and enjoy the leisure of running free out there. I stay with him for now, as I'm not sure if he might try to push through screen or not. Our little 3 year old grandson likes to pet him and Joe was not afraid of him. Our 8 and 10 year old grandchildren are coming in July. I'm sure they will enjoy him. Our daughters, neutered Jack Russell really likes him, too much. Guess we might have to separate when they visit if Franklin doesn't lay off. Guess that's about it. All is well with Joe. I'll try to send another update in July. Thanks for all you do to help Beagles. We're glad you saved Joe. Sincerely, Sherry and (Bernie) Mock

Dallas
Dallas

Hi! Thanks for the info on the flea/tick, heartworm dates! Dallas is doing excellent. It was like he has always lived here! He moved right in, made himself at home! He had a good appetite, and was friendly with our other dog. I'll admit, I did not expect such a good dog so soon! I am glad I was wrong! Thank you again for all you and the organization does for the beagles! Talk to you soon! John Barfield

Rose
Rose

Hello TBBR, As promised, I wanted to send you an update on the sweetest beagle ever! Foremost, our little lady weighed in at 28.5 pounds this weekend! We are so happy and proud of her and the wonderful job that she has been doing. It is hard to believe that we have had Rose now for over 4 months. We just grow to love her more each day and I still get that little tickle in my heart whenever she looks at me. She is the best and we are so thankful to TBBR for doing what you do. It is hard to imagine or even think about what would have happened to this sweet little princess if she had not been lovingly taken in by such a wonderful, caring group of people. It is no wonder that they say dog is man’s best friend…because Rose truly is ours. She is our loyal little companion and we try to include her in all of our plans as much as possible. 2 weeks ago, she had her first sleep over at her Grandads. She went on a lot of walks and loved the smells of the heavily wooded areas in their backyard. On Thursday we are all going to enjoy a baseball game and Saturday holds in store another trip to the beach! She seems truly happy as long as she is with Mom and Dad — from just hanging out in the yard, or just watching TV she is always close by. Her newest hobby is chasing lizards. She is not real crazy about other dogs, but that is ok, because she is our one and only and all we need. No matter how tired she gets, she will stay up with us until it is time for everyone to go to bed where she likes to lay in between us and give us lots of kisses and enjoys getting her trim little belly rubbed. When it is time to get up in the morning, she wakes us with more kisses, and if that is not enough to get us out of bed, she will jump off the bed and pull the covers off of us or howl at us begging us to get up and take her for her morning stroll (and of course, breakfast). She is so full of energy and loves to play, especially now that she had lost that extra weight. Rose has brought so much fulfillment to our lives that I think neither one of us could have ever imagined. I think she knows that she is home now forever and that she will never be alone or abandoned again. We remind her of that all the time and I am pretty sure that she understands! Sorry I did not have very many pictures with family, we will work on that and get some to you! Thank you all for what you do! Carrie, Joshua and Rose
