Rex Things are fine he is warming up to people and getting more un-affraid. He likes to take baths and loves to sleep. We found out he likes the dog park also, running from tree to tree making his mark. Hahaha. He loves the kids and loves going to my job and meeting new people. He has made some friends in the complex we live in. I have noticed he growls a little bit at certain people and that is kinda weird. he stopped peeing in the house and we got him on a schedule now. He likes his cage but will not stay in there for more then 2hrs without barking but he is never alone for more than 2hrs. We have figured out a system to solve the separation problem. he is doing well though and we hope to have pictures soon. Bye Justin, Stacy, Josh, Rex and Newborn ***Update*** Rex is doing GREAT!!!! Justin is totally in love with him and says Rex is a new man. He is down to 36 pounds and loves going to the dog beach. Ofcourse, still somewhat shy but is so different from when he first arrived. Sleeps every night with Justin & his girlfriend--she says she can't tell who snores the loudest-Rex or Justin.
Danny Danny is doing well with our family. He is very sweet and gentile and barely makes a sound unless another dog walks by our house. He likes playing fetch in the house with his new toys. He sleeps well at night and has a good appetite at dinner time. Danny is a bit puppy-like as he enjoys stealing toys or a dropped sock and running through the house with his trophy. For the time being, we are keeping all of the bedroom doors closed so we can monitor him closely. He has been fairly well mannered as he does not beg for food or try to get in our bed at night. However, we need to work on some house breaking with him as he will still relieve himself in the house after going outside and relieving himself. We took him to the veterinarian last Friday to get him Heartgard. Everything checked out well. All in all, he has been a wonderful addition to our family! We are extremely happy to have given him a home. Andrea Gartland
Barnie III This is our new edition, Urban. He has a very sweet personality, and such a cute face!!! He is not obsessed with food and treats (aka not a typical dog!!), and is still being picky about what toys he plays with. He sleeps a lot (as you can see) but does have energy when he wants! He loves his crate, and feels very comfortable with it. Not much beagle bark from Urban (yet). He does when provoked, but even then, it doesn't interest him that much. He has learned his name, and I think he likes it! Andrew is already calling him the Urbananator! We are a little worried about him not eating as much. He doesn't like dry food, and only wants a little wet. Andrew and I think he was fed people food, because he spends a lot of time at our feet in the kitchen. He begs some, but it's doesn't seem like it's his life mission. Should we be worried? Any suggestions? He is behaving beautifully though! We think all of this is just an adjustment period (for dog and parents!). We are very excited to be new parents! More active pictures to come (when he gets more energetic)!!! Thanks, for everything, and sorry we miss you on Saturday! Cherie, Andrew and Urban!
Herbie Hello! The Bullis family, whom adopted Herbie in winter of 2005, have not kept up to date with the wonderful people who gave us the best pet in the whole world! Herbie has so many characteristics that make him the best beagle in the world. However, his many nicknames we call him are the Herbster, Herbie monster, the fur ball :) He comes with his tail wagging and those "sympathetic" sweet eyes right to us when he is called. He sleeps like a little human being, his paws over each other and sometimes over a little stuffed duck we got him! He gets cold during the winter so he likes to be covered with a blanket and will not move from under it until it is morning! He talks back to us when we speak to him by snorting but keeps eye contact. He gives us "the paw" when we stop petting him, God forbid! He is a good guard dog at the same time. If he hears a cat, a squirrel or a bird, he is quick to have those beagle ears propped up and howling. He is a very loveable dog. He follows us all around the house and is sad when one of us leaves! He likes to cuddle up on the bed with Momma Bullis and wont leave her side. Not to mention, Herbie is a healthy beagle baby! No more heartworm and does nothing but have "ciestas" which are when he goes outside and chases lizzards, squirrels, and tries to steal the fresh veggies off the stems! I have attached some pictures of herbie and hope you enjoy seeing how adopting him made us a happier family and making it impossible to be away from him! Thank you again! The Bullis Family
Trinket Trinket is doing great! We moved up to Chicago last Fall and are finally settling in. Of course there are days where we miss Florida and the wonderful dog parks (and temperature). The dog parks up here are either massively huge (30 to 68 acres!) or just not the same as our favorite one in Ft Lauderdale. After being cooped up in a hotel suite for 4 months, the pooches adore the new house with plenty of space to run in circles :) I forgot to update you last Winter, but being a Florida pooch, even though she likes to stay warm, Trinket had so much fun when it snows up here. She likes to jump up and snap at the snow, trying to catch some in her mouth :o). One most wonderful thing we stumbled across was a Beagle Meet-Up group here in the Chicago suburbs. They are the GREATEST group of folks. About 20-some beagles (and their humans) get together once a month and have absolutely SO much fun playing together. We've made some beagle best-friends there and Trinket loves making everyone chase her. Of course afterwards, all the beagles are tuckered out and having wonderful doggie dreams :o) I really hope you guys are going strong in your beagle rescue mission. I always encourage others who are looking for dogs to look for rescue orgs first. You guys are always doing a great job! - Warm hugs, Jocelyn Click a letter to find an animal or view all.
