Ace Ace is doing very well. He enjoys eating, although he is much slower at finishing his food than Nellie. He has even barked at her a few times if she gets too close - just to say back off, it's mine! Occasionally she'll get into his dish if we're not watching and then he run over to us to tattle on Nellie. They LOVE to play tug-of-war with the squeaky toys and have already killed 3 of them. Ace was SO proud of himself the first day he was here and found our large bag of toys...he pulled them all out and wagged his tail so fast and just kept squeaking them. We do crate both of the dogs when we are gone for work during the day time (my husband comes home to let them out at lunch time). We have been slowly experimenting with leaving them out - loose in the house - for an hour or 2 at a time. So far so good... Ace LOVES to go for walks and to the dog park. He has made friends with many neighbor dogs and his buddies that go to the dog park every weekend. He's gotten into a few tussles at the park, but overall, he just walks around and sniffs and barks the whole time. We were pleasantly surprised to find that Ace is very affectionate. He loves to get his tummy rubbed and snuggle. If you're not petting him and he feels he should be, he'll pull your hand to him with his paw and nudge at it with him nose until you pet him. He's sweet. Good news: We've taught Ace to shake, lay down, we're working on rollover now. Sometimes he plays a little too hard for his hip, but it looks like it is filling out a little more with muscle. Thanks for checking in on Ace. We're really glad that we were able to rescue a beagle from an organization that cares so much for the dogs. We tell everyone about the rescue and have run into so many people that have rescued other dogs, too. Janet
Lulu We are very happy to report that Lulu is doing just fine!!We absolutely love her.She loves her walks and lying around the house and the back yard. She jumps up on the couch or chair and naps,We are still keeping her play time down due to the heartworm treatment but every once in a while she likes to to get 'rocket but' as we call it and run around and around. She loves our son and shadows Marianne all day long around the house when she's not napping!!!We all love her and she is a very happy member of the family.I have included a couple of picture's.Thanks for every thing that you did for Lulu before we adopted her and for all the good you do for all the animals in your care. Steven,Marianne, and Adam Brawer
Montana Things are going pretty well, although she has an inner ear yeast infection and the vet bills and medication so far are over $300!! But she is worth it. We are going to try and make it to the adoption event on Saturday, if work allows. I have been giving April updates on things. I'll try and get some pictures taken and e-mailed to you. Thanks Mike
Tipper Tipper is adjusting just fine. She is everything we could have hoped for- and more:) We are still getting to know her personality but she is the sweetest girl. Thanks again for fostering her, I know how difficult it must have been letting her go. Rest assured she is in a good and loving home. As a matter of fact she probably wishes my kids would give her a break from lovin' on her constantly. When she is tired of them she goes and finds a quite space somewhere in the house. She and the resident cat are getting along fine as well. Still unsure about each other, as can be expected, but getting closer every day. They actually napped in the same room the other day- cute. We will keep everyone up to date on our skinny girls progress. Best wishes Bruce and Jill
Milo I adopted Milo on September 26, 2007 and he has changed my life forever. My two doxies passed away 3 months ago and left a tremendous void which Milo has completely filled. He brings me such joy, he is my constant companion and sleeps with me every night with his head on the pillow. Actually, he is lucky to have two mothers because I live with my mother so he is never alone. He shares his new home with four retired rescue greyhounds, a rescue walker coonhound and a senior english setter. He came into his new home and settled right in as if he had always been here. I had doxies for twenty years until the last two crossed The Bridge but after adopting Milo I now know that a beagle will always have a special place in my heart. Milo reminds me of a country gentleman. He is perfect in every way. We are a match truly made in heaven. Thank you to everyone at TBBR for all the wonderful work that you do. Sincerely, Lesley Osborn Click a letter to find an animal or view all.
