Leroy
Leroy

to hear from you. LeRoy is a treasure. He has developed his personality and his colors are actually changing a bit as he matures...more black and his eyes have darkened a little. He has learned 'down' but not 'stay' since we have had him. 'Sit' is still his best command. He goes to the dog park every week day. Too crowded on the weekends and he gets over stimulated. He has improved and actually lets people at the park pet him. Not so much at home with our guests. Which is too bad because they all think he is so cute. His walks are still too much him leading me, but I am just glad he walks most of the time instead of running. We have had to replace two gentle leaders...one cause we were not so gentle and the other because he actually chewed it off when resting. Guess I should have taken it off sooner. He has improved with the barking when guests are here and does not follow them so much. Not because his training is better but we believe it is because of a phermone collar we bought from our vet. Seems to calm him. He has had it for 30 days which is about when it wears out. We are going to try him without it and see what happens. He does well with children if they don't chase him. We had a little one with us for 6 weeks. They became the best of pals. Treats I think were involved and a few droppings around the table. We had to work hard for this not to become a begging situation but it seems ok. Still can't find anything he likes to chew that lasts for any length of time and he has destroyed two shoes. BAD BOY. He is not very cuddly but never complains about being touched. Does really well at the groomer. Still has a problem with his anal glands so he gets a little help every 30 days. We changed food but it didn't seem to make much difference. Guess it is just going to be his thing. I am attaching a recent picture. I have the cutest little video of him with a toddler and will send if your email can handle to file size. Take care and keep in touch. Priscilla and Taylor.

Jasmine
Jasmine

Jasmine, now known as, Abby is doing great, our Dear Abby! We had a few issues with accidents in the house but I emailed Paula and she suggested kenneling her which I was a little hesitant about but it has worked out beautifully. Abby took to the kennel right away so she was obviously kennel trained in her previous life. She is adorable, funny and has been a wonderful addition to our family. She has come a long way in just a short time and seems to be adjusting very well. She is truly a part of the family. She doesn't like to see us leave and is extremely happy when we return home. Even Grandma adores her. She walks well on the leash and does well in the car too. Truly a blessing to the family and I think she would say the same about us....:) Thanks for checking. Thanks for all you do! Terri Cooley

Champ
Champ

Champ is doing great, he still occasionally digs in the yard but lately he has not had interest in doing it so much, which is good on our part haha. He seems to be very happy with us, and he loves our other one Paris they constantly play until they pretty much fall asleep. He is also no longer uncomfortable around with new faces in the house and seems to be the good friendly dog that he is, but It seems he does not like very small animals so we have kept him away from them especially at the dog park we take him to once a week. Other then that he is doing fantastic and I could not be anymore happier to have him in my home :) Thanks, Krysten & Charlie

Dori
Dori

Thanks for checking in with us. We love Dori sooooo much! She is the best! We have an active 2 1/2 year old and Dori is tolerant of him. She loves to go on walks and loves to sun bathe in our back yard;. she has a hearty appettite. She doesn't really like to play with any special toys; she just likes to be around everyone. We really want to adopt another one sometime; I am on the website twice a week and have a lot of favorites. We would like to adopt a senior beagle. We will definitely let you know when we are ready, Thank you. Laurie Weaver

Elvis II
Elvis II

Sorry we haven’t sent pictures. We have just had a close friend pass away this week and we have been distracted. Elvis, though, who has now been renamed Max is an absolute delight. We love him and he has assimilated well with our other two dogs. We are working on commands with him because he did not know any. No housebreaking accidents, though — he goes right out the doggie doors. We are not crating him anymore during the day and the dogs are fine. I will say I suspect that he was at least verbally abused because sometimes when we are teaching him with a firm voice, he cowers down and acts fearful. That is starting to occur less often and we try to be gentle in our voice commands. He does act like he cannot get enough to eat. Mealtime is the only time we are still struggling with. He wolfs down his food and tries to get to Brody & Murphy’s bowls. We are working on that behavior but it is slow. We also notice that his “thumbs” have been cut off. Was that done for hunting purposes? It’s not just the nail but the whole thing on both front paws. Poor baby. He is excellent on the leash and walking all 3 of them has been no problem. Actually, I thought that would be the most difficult but it’s easy. Thank you for what you do with the rescue. We are dog nuts at our house and Beagles have a special place in our hearts. Brody will be 12 this month and he’s a love. He & Max are about the same size and Max is helping Brody play some despite his arthritis. I promise we will send pix soon! Thanks, Janet
