![]() My husband got Callie was he was 12 years old. She was his best friend and when I met him, she quickly became my friend too. Callie was a St. Bernard and Pit Bull mix and was one of the sweetest, most loving, and obedient dogs you would ever meet. She loved to play, eat cookies, and sleep in the bed. She was there for us when my in laws passed away, always offering a gentle lick or a snuggle. The time following my in laws passing was very difficult, but Callie was the one constant in our lives and we loved her so very much. In 2004, at the age of 14, Callie was diagnosed with intestinal cancer and 3 months later we had to put her to sleep. Not a day goes by that we don't think about and miss our sweet and loving Callie girl. A few months after Callie passed, we got our beagle, Bailey. She is such a sweet little angel and we know that Callie surely would have loved her too!! ![]() Sweet Michael........... The time you were with us was far too short, but the love you gave was a lifetime's worth. You sang freely, songs from your heart and never minded when we all joined you in singing. We will always be missing your beautiful voice. I have no doubt you are helping out at the bridge by arroooooing new arrivals. We love you and miss you, Michael, our Big Man! Hot Diggety, Dog Ziggety, Boom what you do to me! Mommas wen and Pat ![]() When Jesse gave his heart--you were his. Sadly, Jesse did not have too much time with us before his time came to leave for the bridge. His is free from his pains now, soar high, Jesse! very much loved by wen and Pat ![]() I hope you are chasing all the butterflies you could ever want! Rosie came to us very ill with canine influenza out of Miami AC. She was not able to recover from it. Rosie was loved and fostered by wen and Pat ![]() Someone said that Brooke's heart, even though she was a beagle, was closest to a basset. Brooke might not agree with that, she always thought bassets were "special needs" beagles. She was a gracious hostess for numerous foster bassets who came to live in her home. She taught each one that there were rules, and some were her rules, and some were just life rules. She was intent on seeing that each basset learned them before they went along to a forever home. That was part of her legacy. One of her enduring ways of teaching her fosters was by tugging on their ears, especially around mealtime. I will always remember that about her, and miss her sweet kisses the most. You are my heart, Brooke. You have been, from the first moment I held you, and will be forever. I love you, Momma Wen Click a letter to find an animal or view all.
