Gus II 05/22/2008
To my little Gussy, February 2, 2008.........the day we first met. You were such a handsome boy, with the sad eyes of one who had been through too much in your short life. All your pain and suffering showed in your eyes..........and I was there for you. You struggled for breath many times, and I was there for you, massaging your neck to help you relax so you could breathe. Your heart was scarred and with every irregular beat of your heart, I loved you.......... There were days when I thought you were going to leave me for good, but you made it through. You gave me 31/2 months of love, and me and the girls loved you back. We helped you through the bad days and the good days. God has now decided that your time of suffering should be over. Run little Gussy........God in his heaven is welcoming you with open arms............your other beagle friends are waiting for you... Love, your beagle mom.....Sylvia

Rita 04/14/2008
Our dear "Rita Rita Bergita" crossed the Rainbow Bridge this morning at 9:20 am. She had lost her battle with what we believe was either Crohn's disease or colon cancer. She had lost every ounce of muscle on her body in her last 4 days and could no longer lift her head. Fortunately she waited for me to return so I could spend her last 24hrs telling her how much we loved her. She was the perfect dog and she will be dearly missed. Now she can eat all the cheeseburgers that she wants. Rikkele

Snoopy VIII 04/10/2008
Snoopy became very sick from, perhaps, her heartworm treatment. She went into kidney failure. We did everything possible to try and bring her back around. She was also at the vets last week and the vet then thought she was just fine so this all happened within days. This morning she was suffering and I had to let her go in peace. Now she will no longer suffer. I am completely heartbroken as Snoopy was such a wonderful sweet & loving little girl. May God bless her soul. Paula

Ruby 03/25/2008
We had to help Ruby cross the Rainbow Bridge this morning. When we picked up Ruby from Hillsborough County Animal Services on March 15th she had been spayed and had a mammary tumor removed. After just a few days of being fostered by Laura her incisions opened, became swollen and discolored. We took her to Dr. Corona on March 18th and he kept her for a few days treating her wounds and we were optimistic because the swelling was going down and the infection appeared to be clearing up. The results of the pathology on the tumor showed it was cancerous and that it could be expected to matasitize (spread), if it had not already done so. When Ruby returned to Dr. Corona for her scheduled recheck today he knew she was in trouble because the wound was not healing at all. After further examination Dr. Corona believed that there were additional tumors in same mammary and additional tumors in another. This coupled with the wound getting worse rather then better led to the conclusion that further efforts and treatment were futile and would only delay the inevitable. Furthermore, Ruby was becoming more uncomfortable and more in pain as time went on. Cindy Mac took Ruby home last night and kept her as comfortable as possible. I took Ruby to Dr. Corona's this morning and held and petted her as she crossed the Rainbow Bridge free of pain and suffering no more. Dr. Corona and his staff gave Ruby every possible chance to show any sign for a possible recovery but it was already too late for her. If you were with me this morning and could see her for yourself you could not have any doubt she had lost her battle with the cancer. I took Ruby to our friends at Honor Thy Pet and her ashes will be returned to me later in the week so she can join Bisquit, Buddy VIII and Ivan at our home. Jack

JuJu 02/24/2008
Last Sunday Morning while we were getting ready for church, Angel and JuJu were outside playing. JuJu dug under the fence and got out. She was hit by an car in front of our house before we realized she was out of the yard. She died instantly. We have been so sad and we really miss her. Even Angel has not been herself since it has happened. We are all beside ourselves and can't believe it happened. I am really sorry - I know that we said we would take care of her........we did the best we could. She dug under the fence many times and we would block up the spots. She did not dig every day, so you never knew if she was going to or not. We all loved JuJu very much and we miss her so much. This has been a very hard time for us. We need to mourn JuJu. We have pictures of her up all over the house. Gail, Neal, Connor, Corey and Collin French
