It is believed that Pacino was hit by a car. He developed a large wound on the side of his head that had to be treated. Fortunately animal control in Bradford County got him the care he needed right away and he has done great. He is the MOST GRATEFUL dog you will ever meet! Grateful to be alive and grateful to be out of the shelter! He sits on his hind legs and just wraps his front legs around you just hugging you and not wanting to let go. He is a silly playful beagle boy who does not have a mean bone in his body. He is so wonderfully tolerant of the toddlers in his foster home and is extremely gentle. He is very friendly but immediately cowers if he thinks he has done something wrong. He has made tremendous progress in the housebreaking department and only rarely has an accident. He crates very easily and sleeps quietly the whole night. We have yet to hear this guy bark but I am sure he will find his voice soon. He can easily fit through even a 4 inch space in the fence so he will need to be leash walked or have a secure fence. Good thing is he is not much of a runner and typically comes right back to you when called, of course slinking on his belly thinking he is in trouble. He is definitely a heartbreaker!
He has just gone for heartworm treatment and will be recovering over the next couple weeks. He has been diagnosed with dry eyes and is on special eye drops to try to stimulate tear production. If this doesn't work he will need to be on artificial tear drops for the rest of his life. A very small price to pay for the unconditional love you will get from this extra special beagle !!
