UPDATE 2/10/08 Just arrived in Tampa! Jefferson is the sweetest beagle I have met in ages! He is a little shy but very friendly. Loves being in the house--and exploring the backyard a little at a time. Was a little scared in the crate last night but after sitting next to him for a few minutes he went right to sleep and did not hear a peep out of him for 7 hours!! He is not too active--and is very respectful of the 5 other dogs in the house. Oh boy--can I keep him??
Poor Jefferson was found in the National Forest in Clay County by a Wildlife Biologist. Whether he was abandoned or lost we are not sure, but no one ever came looking for this beautiful guy. He is friendly and outgoing. He will greet you at the door with such excitement that his whole body is wiggling and his tail is wagging a hundred miles an hour!! He really loves men and will follow them around all day. It seems apparent that he has never been in a house before and he is learning house manners and getting the hang of the housebreaking thing. He has not been destructive in the house and is doing fine in a crate. He gets along with other dogs and cats and is hoping you will want to make him a part of your family!
