Beagle : : Male (neutered) : : Young : : Medium
Since the first day Elmo came to his new foster home he has shown love and affection for everyone around him. He is potty trained and walks well on a leash. He loves going on walks and will sit by the door if he wants to go out. On our walks, he is very curious of all the scents around him and follows his nose. Right now I am teaching him how to sit, and he is doing great! A treat always help, and now he is beginning to understand what to do. I am working with him on jumping up on the counter. He is tall enough to reach the counter and he likes to see whats up there, and if there is any people food he can get into. He does not bark or beg, he will sit like a perfect gentleman right next to you when you are eating, hoping for a small morsel. He has been around several dogs the past couple of days and has been great with them all, he is very playful and even if a dog barks at him he remains calm. I have not heard him bark once since he has been with me. He loves to cuddle up next you to and loves to bury himself in fluffy blankets. He also likes his tummy rubbed. He is a very relaxed, laid back dog, that enjoys taking naps often during the day. I have given him several bones over the past couple of days, and one of his most interesting characteristics is that he loves to bury all the bones you give him. He will find a spot in the yard or if we are in the house he prefers to bury them in the couch. He is quite entertaining to watch doing this. He is becoming familiar with playing with toys and tennis balls. I don't think he has ever been given a toy, so he is still not sure what exactly to do with them. He is a great dog full of love and would be perfect in a home with other dogs or kids. He gets along great with everyone and loves to give you kisses to let you know how much he loves you. Anyone would be lucky to adopt a dog like Elmo!
