Casanova just arrived!  He was adopted out of the shelter back in March to a family and at the time he was heartworm positive.  The family recently returned Casanova to the shelter before the deadline to have him treated for the heartworms approached.  We think they didn't want to spend the money to have him treated.  Casanova (or Casey as my kids keep calling him) was also reported to not do well with the family's children.  He has been happily playing with my 3 kids and has checked out my beagles but left them alone.  He is doing beautifully with our guest small dog and doesn't appear to have a mean bone in his body.  Casanova has no problem with food at all--I almost wonder if he is beagle!!  He gently takes treats and has no problems with your hands in his food.  He eats very danty-like!  He has been excellent at our meal times and just laid down at our feet.  He has really enjoyed all of our attention and happily rolls over for the belly rubs!  Casanova is heartworm positive so will need to undergo heartworm treatment (rescue covers this!) but please don't let that discourage you from meeting this gem!!  Casanova is so sweet and loving and will make a GREAT family dog.

PS  Casanova knows how to stand on his back 2 feet and do a beg stance--we're trying to get a picture of it to post.

All of our animals are sterilized, microchipped, vaccinated, and tested/treated for heartworm disease before adoption.
