George has had many hard years living outside and running in the woods. His owners mother finally turned George into Levy County Animal Control because she could not stand to see him suffer anymore. He is estimated to be about 11 years old but is still happy to prance along sniffing for rabbits and squirrels. I left one photo taken on the day we picked him up, 9/28/07, for comparison.

5/18/08: We had George visiting for a week while his foster mom was away. He had no problems with my 2 Beagles, an 8 year old male and a 5 year old female. Sure he is a senior and set in his ways, but he still has LOTS of energy and loves being outside sniffing every inch of ground. While visiting, George met a doberman, 2 bichons and a toy poodle without incident. He can be heard to give a little growl at another dog when he doesn't want to be bothered. He had no accidents in our house and learned our routine quickly. Being that Beagle/Basset mix he can pull hard on his leash when he gets on a scent but otherwise was a pleasure to have visit with us.
