Banjo is the sweetest dog who loves to give kisses. He is good with adults, kids, cats, and chickens. He is an excellent cuddler and he loves to be around people.
He has a beautiful coat and is considered to be a blue-tick beagle.
He likes toys especially the smaller ones and Nylabones.
Banjo's nose can get him trouble though.
He liked to dig under fences. Because of this, he needs to be monitored while he is outside. His foster caretakers put an extra collar on him wrapped with a pool noodle to keep him inside the fence. The pool noodle device will go with him to his adopters. Since he has been at his foster cargivers home for about a month, he is doing very well keeping himself busy in the fenced yard without trying to escape. The resident beagle has taught Banjo to be an avid lizard hunter.
A collar also should be on him at all times with an Apple tag so locating him is easier if he runs off. He has a bright orange collar (and a matching harness and leash) so he is easier to spot at night.
Because of his running tendency, he hurt his back leg and had surgery on it. He isn't using the leg often, so his caretakers take him in the pool daily with a life jacket to build the muscle in the leg. The life jacket can also go to his new home. His back leg is getting stronger and he kicks with it quite well in the swimming pool.He can also use it to stand on.
Banjo does well sleeping in a people's bed or on a dog bed in the room where others sleep. He does not need to be crated in his foster home as he has not tried to chew or destroy anything and he does not have separation anxiety.
Banjo is very easy to love and he is beautiful. His new family just needs to be up to the challenge of keeping him safe while he adapts to his new home. Won't you consider giving him a home?
