Louie would love to lay on your lap and cuddle all day. He is a great snuggler.
He is a calm six-year-old beagle mix who will mostly stay next to his person. 
Louie does have separation anxiety when he is left alone. Fortunately, his foster parents are retired and he is not left alone often. He is put in a crate when his foster family can not be with him and he has his own Thundershirt.
He was perfect on the car ride to his foster home and the few trips he has made there. However, he was scared getting into the car and a dog seatbelt was used to keep him in one place. He had to be lifted into the car, but with treats, and as he gains self-confidence, he would learn to jump into the car himself. We think he is afraid of being abandoned so he prefers to stay at home. He does not cry, bark, or whine in the car. 
Louie is very gentle when taking treats from a hand.
Louie is making great strides in his foster home and learning to be a little more self-confident. 
He is fine with the other dogs in the foster home. He likes to run out the back door when the other dogs are taking off. 
He is not the best on a leash since he sometimes freezes in place. He does not pull. He likes to stay close to his person. 
When other dogs come to the fence, he sometimes acts as if he is a guard dog although he will stop quickly when you call out his name. This has happened in the foster home with a large neighbor dog. It is nice that he responds to corrections easily and quickly.
If you call Louie in the yard, will come which is different from some beagles. :) 
He sleeps in a crate in the bedroom where he can see everyone and does very well. He goes into his crate easily. The dog bed and the blanket he uses will go to his new home to help with the transition.
Louie would love to be your bed dog though.
Louie was excellent when we cut his nails. 
He has run out the front door a few times when it was left open, but he comes back in when he is called. He likes to see the people in the house so he easily goes inside and outside with them. We think he does not want to get lost again. 
Louie is a super sweet boy. He falls asleep quickly if he can find a spot on the couch next to someone.
He follows his foster mom around the house and garden. He wants a home and to be loved. He will need someone who is patient and will work with him a bit. He would very much like to be someone's special dog. Could that be you?
