Everybody, please allow me to introduce Rachel! She has been in rescue since April 9 and she has been a very good girl. This beautiful brown and tan beagle mix is such a snuggler and has been so low key around the house. She is quiet, independent and loves car rides.

Outside, though, she comes alive! She would do great with a yard so she can get some of her sniffing out of the way before she goes for a walk.. She LOVES walks and is NOT a puller when walking, but rather a serious sniffer and explorer of all things.

Rachel is lightweight for her size, and she is not picky in what she eats. She is still learning look at me and stay, but she follows come and sit at least inside. She is crate trained but prefers naps on all soft surfaces, including my children. Her favorite play is to tear the little white tags out of toys, chew pig ears and paper towel rolls. She enjoys tug of war with the resident ten-month old month beagle. Rachel gets along with the dog and two resident cats, or at least does not bother them. She is great with strange dogs at dog park and good with strange people. Rachel's dislikes include people going out the front door without her, lawnmower and machines. She hardly ever barks. She sometimes whines when the family initially leaves, but she settles down nicely after a few minutes.

Rachel is ready to go to her furever home and would be great as an only dog or with a canine companion.   She is a little shy but when she warms up she loves nothing better than to sleep next to you or by your feet. She is available to meet every afternoon
