He shoud be called MIRACLE as he was supposed to be killed at a county shelter, but slipped through the cracks. He story is long, so I have posted it on the "Foster's Memoirs Page" on our web site. Michael has had a lot of emotional stress but we are beginning to see the great dog that he will be someday. Michael will require someone with lots of patience so he can move forward at his own pace. If you are up to a real challenge and want a chance to really save a dog's life then Michael (The Miracle) may just be the dog for you.
- He has done very well in my house with my 2 other beagles.
- The shelter put his age at 4 but he has way too much puppy in him and I would say he is not more then 2 years old.
4/10/07 While Jack is away Michael is staying with us, our 3 senior beagles, Kizzy (another foster) and my 3 young children. The first day was a challenge because Michael didn't know where the heck he was. He slipped out of my very unsecured fence & ran from my husband & I along with 6 high school kids for 1 1/2 hours before he gave in from exhaustion. The second day I put him on a tie-out in the yard for 2 minutes while I prepared his breakfast--and he escaped! My point here is--maybe NO fence is better for Michael so that you will always be on the other side of his leash!! :-)
Michael is wonderful! The entire family has taken to him (including my hard to break the shell husband!) and he gets along beautifully with the other dogs. He is completely housebroken but is still young so does like to pick up paper & stuff off the ground to munch on--maybe a few toys of the kids!! He is very sweet & loves to give kisses once he figures out you are cool. He also enjoys being chased around the house!! He willingly will be crated or not crated--choice is yours! He will make a really suberb addition to your family, and that is a promise.
