PUPDATE 8/9/17: Roland is adjusting very well. He is still hand shy but is starting to allow us to approach him and pet him. He has the sweetest personality. He is very well behaved in the house and loves toys. He is excellent with our teens and guests. His leash walking is improving.
Roland is new to TBBR. He is very shy and very nervous around people. He's so hand shy that we feel he hasn't been treated well in the past. Sad any animal should fear people, but especially when they are as sweet as Roland .
He has been very good with the other dogs in the house. He's clearly never been walked on a leash, so we will start adjusting him to that. So far he is not a counter surfer, but he has found the trash can.
After some minor adjustments I think we see that Roland will make a very nice house dog. Because of his fears, pictures are challenging so I will work on getting more as he adjusts. PUPDATE 9/14: Roland has come a really long way! He now approaches us for attention! Roland has the most adorable bounce when he is playing with toys or the other dogs-he reminds us of Tigger from Winnie the Pooh. He will take treats from my teen son's hands-but not the others in the house yet. To feed him we have to put the bowl down and then back away before he will approach the food. He loves toys! He has been really well behaved in the house and has really only bothered a shoe or 2 and maybe a misc item. As long as he is redirected he quickly forgets about the forbidden item. He really doesn't care for the crate and actually has busted out of one somehow. He sleeps on a chair next to our bed at night and mostly on the doggie bed in the den when we are busy. He walks very fast so would be more difficult for small people to walk (my teens walk him) or older people as he semi runs the entire time. He isn't bad on the leash but really needs more guidance.
Our family truly enjoys Roland's zest for life and his very eager to please attitude!
