Beagle : : Male (neutered) : : Adult
UPDATE: Jay is such a playful, affectionate dog! He just wants to snuggle with his person. He LOVES going on walks and playing with toys. He is house trained and is definitely fine with cats. Jay is a cute little beagle. He sleeps well in his crate. He loves to hang outside and chase lizards or just sniff around. He is very lovable and sweet. We are not sure what his life was before TBBR stepped in and rescued him from the shelter, but it's clear he didn't spend a lot of time in a house, as the TV really fascinates him. We have found that Jay doesn't do well with male dogs. With female dogs, he growls at first, but is fine once the initial sniffing is done. He gets along perfectly with the 11 y.o. female beagle in his foster home. He also seems okay with the cat; interested, but doesn't bark or run after him. He loves going on walks and is pretty good on a leash. He does walk with his nose to the ground the entire time. We haven't encountered another dog during our walks, so don't know what the reaction will be. Jay knows how to use the doggie door in his foster home, but hasn't quite grasped the concept of using it to go potty outside. We are working on the house training. If he is taken outside frequently and goes potty, then he's okay inside. Because of Jay's issue with male dogs, he should be an only dog or share a home with a female dog.
