Update from Cajun's foster: Cajun is a very smart sweet loving loyal dog. He is always at my side and loves his foster brothers, especially Charlie. He follows him just about anywhere and Charlie gives him lots of reassurance and confidence, so I think he would love a home with another friendly dog.
He's good with dogs, cats, and all people. One of the cats in the house actually play fights with him and he gently paws the kitty to play back. My cat has play bit him on the head, then licked it and Cajun never flinched, he just kept trying to play.
House training is going great, no accidents in a quite a while. He is in a crate overnight and does just fine holding it for longer periods. He's very quiet, never barks at anything, and is not a leg lifter! He hasn't chewed anything that's not a dog toy as well. He is crate trained now and actually puts himself in it at night to go to sleep. He enjoys it now. Cajun is good on car rides, sleeping mostly. With just everything, he's wonderful. If he doesnt get adopted soon he may be staying here! Cajun is a sweet, even tempered boy. He is a little nervous, especially of loud noises so he'll need a little patience as he adjusts to his new life. We don't believe he's spent much, if any, time in a house. He is facinated by the T.V. While he's had a few accidents in the house at the beginning, he learned to use a doggie door within hours of his arrival. This shows he is a quick learner. Cajun has not yet jumped up on furniture, although when another dog jumps up on the bed to sleep in the evening, Cajun lifts his paws up on the bed and looks at the person in the room. He is then settled in a doggie bed in the bedroom to sleep at night. Getting along well with the other 2 dogs in the house, is a definite plus. Even with the grumpy senior, Cajun is wonderful. The staff at the shelter stated, "Huge potential to be a perfect companion." and we would have to agree. Cajun is such a sweet boy. He will make you so happy if you take him home.
