Charlene is a beautiful young lemon beagle that came into a Florida shelter as a stray. She was quiet and a little shy, and her nails were at least an inch long.
She's still quiet, but quickly came out of her shell when she went to her foster home! We have Charlene tentatively listed as four years old, but she certainly has the energy of a puppy. She loves toys, will retrieve a tennis ball and play tug-of-war. We will have a better estimate of her age when she visits our vet.
We don't know if Charlene is house trained, but she did learn how to use the doggie door after just a few hours in her foster home. She gets along with the adults and teenagers in the house, the 10 year old beagle, and was curious about the cat. She slept in a crate overnight; whined a little, then went right to sleep. She hasn't been exposed to small children yet, but we think she would be fine.
