Say hello to Addison, the newest little girl in town. Addison is just settling in with her new foster mom. Right now, we are busy getting this precious beagle girl healthy. She was left at Levy County animal shelter very underweight and found to have heartworms. We have put her through the mill, getting her vet-checked, shots given, microchipped, etc. etc. She has put up with it all without grumbling. Then she went into her foster home and foster mom says she cleaned ears, trimmed nails, bathed, gave meds, and Addison made no complaint.

Foster mom plans on lots of TLC and security to bring this sweet girl out of her shell. She likes the security of her crate and sleeps soundly in it...she even snores just a little. Foster mom says outside of the snores, she is a very quiet girl : )

We can see the sweet heart of a hound in this shy little girl. We know it's been a rough beginning for her, but now in good hands, we can tell Addison is on her way to becoming a loving pet. We've seen many like her blossom into fun-loving family pets, but she will need much tender loving care in the process.

Foster Mom Update 2/8/07: Addison is making steady progress. She is trusting foster mom more each day, and even rolls over for a belly rub when mom gets home. She is a "lap-beagle" and loves to be cuddled and carried around. She is a good sleeper and a good eater, and not so good on a leash (OK, she is a beagle!) But in just a few short weeks, this little girl is coming out of her shell just like we knew she would. She is sweet and pleasant and shows no signs of aggression toward people or other animals. Hooray for Addison!
